Welcome

Back in 1955, Pat Knight, Julie Curtis and Ron Soden wanted to give Watford audiences something different as an alternative to straight plays or opera. They knew where their combined talents lay.

Revue - A form of light entertainment consisting of a series of typical sketches, song, dancing, comic turns etc. (The Collins English Dictionary).

Thus was born the New Revue Company and with a show budget of no more than a few pounds, the first show, Starlight, was performed in 1956 at St John’s Hall, Watford. The cast were filled with enthusiasm which was just as well as the scenery was all made from brown paper (lovingly created and painted by another founder member Pete Cordell) and the majority of the costumes were crepe paper and someone’s net curtains

Our next production is 'Its A Fine Life' and will be performed from the 28th April - 3rd May 2008.
